Comparing Dupont Delrin and Acetal Copolymer in Sheet and Rods

Delrin is the perfect plastic for turning on a machine lathe. It’s pretty easy to turn, however it does require slow speeds. I have used this material to make Scottish small pipes chanters. Between the Delrin and POM-C rods, both materials are quite tough and easily machinable, and they have very comparable physical properties. They appear the same, but for practical uses there are some differences that may make one preferable than the other. It also depends heavily on your application. As with any plastic materials, make sure to check the typical properties data sheet for the appropriate properties you may need for your application.
